Suite Get away.

Yes, I am finally getting to our little weekend get away.
We left Friday night after I got off work.
Husband still had not told me where we were going, but I had a few guesses.
We drove for two hours until we finally got to our hotel in Logan.
I have not been that far north in quite a while so it was nice.
Not only did we get to sat in a hotel room, but Husband booked us
an executive suite.
Complete with a large jetted spa, fire place and 2 flat screen TVs
And of course a bathroom, shower, and lounging area.
It was a fun surprise!
On Saturday we went to lunch with Jeff Watts and his fiancé, Mary.
Jeff was one of Husbands favorite mission companions!
For dinner we went over to the Jones'.
Klay Jones was Husband trainer in the mission.
I have mentioned him quite a few times on here.
He is also the other missionary that was with husband when I met them in Australia!
His wife is Jerrica and the have a cutie pie, little baby daughter Kenadee.
After dinner we played Battle of the Sexes.
And can I just say, that game is so easy for the guys!
Ridiculous!
When we got back to our suite, I had found a pretty great documentary!
Husband was so sweet to watch it me even though he could have watched his show on the other Television.
It was ALL about Beyonce.
Think what you want, but it was actually really good.
She produced it and it had some very personal footage.
She is so down to earth and her daughter is darling!
It was such a nice, relaxing weekend and so fun to see our friends!
Now back to real life.
Thanks, boo for the super fun weekend.
I love you so so much!

A Good Point.

When I saw this little story, I thought it made a good point!
You can go into every little detail about obamacare and other programs, but
This story basically hits it straight on in a simple way.
The main part of what this government is trying to do.
What is going to happen with all the hard workers?
What is going to happen to this country?

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on) These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Addition To Love Day.

I will be posting about our nice little get away later.
Maybe after a nice little nap.
Or maybe tomorrow.
I just wanted to share the sweet flowers I received from my
Father-in-law!
It was so nice of him!
It was a lovely addition to a fun weekend that Husband had planned!
Don't mind the clutter on the table...
Also the bottom picture is just for a little laugh.
I shared it on Facebook and just had to share it here!
All in good fun!

Birthday Letter.

Dear Grandpa,

I hope you're having a beautiful birthday!
I'm sure it has been one of the better ones in a while.
I'm really sad you had to leave us, but so glad you have no more pain.
I couldn't have asked for a better Grandpa.
You are the best.
Our family couldn't ask for a better angel to watch over us.
I am so happy that you can now come to all the family events!
Weddings, birthdays, and reunions.
You know, all that good stuff!
I hope you can come to see my babies be blessed.
One day.
There will be a special place just for you!
Take care of Grandmas tender heart.
I am sad you didn't get to meet Husband,
But don't worry, grandpa. He is taking good care of me.
He calls me pretty, just like you did.
He is the guy that you said I would one day find!
He is sure great.
Just like you, grandpa.
Thanks for keeping us all a Forever Family!
And being a brilliant example to us all!
I sure do miss you Grandpa, even though you are not that far away!
Thanks for watching over us!
I love you.

Happy Birthday!

Your Granddaughter,
Desiree

P.S. Husband says Hi!

Super Bowl!

I really do enjoy football.
I love the Super Bowl...as long as there is at least ONE team I can stand in it.
Because really, it's not all that fun to hope for both teams to lose.
But this year, is one of the first times where I didn't mind either team.
Which is almost more difficult, but not really at the same time.
Husband and I felt the same way and were both leaning towards.
...
The Ravens!

Now, I was hoping for a good game.
At the start I wasn't so sure I was going to get that, but I did.
Oh boy! Did I ever.
That last quarter and most of the third...
Ok, ok, the whole second half was almost too much for my heart!
But the Ravens did it.
And how cool is that
Michael Oher got a ring! What an awesome addition to his story!
Don't know what I am talking about?
Watch, Blind Side!
So good!

AND
Last, but definitely not least...
BEYONCE!
She rocks my socks!
If you guys don't know how much I love her, just ask Husband
She killed it!
I. Love. Her.
Exactly.
