Our Story

"Love is like wildflowers...It is often found in the most unlikely places."

Anthony and I met on June 26, 2010 at the Knox Shopping Center in Melbourne, Australia. I was in Australia on Holiday and he was there serving an LDS mission.

I left for Australia on June 21, 2010 all by myself and had only decided to go about 2 days before that, very short notice. On the 26th I went to the shopping center and just browsed around for a while, when I see two missionaries walking on the opposite side of the mall and walking the other direction. I thought it was pretty cool to see some missionaries (Anthony says I gave him and his companion the weirdest look, but I don't think so) I didn't think they saw me, I mean there are quite a lot of people in this mall, but they did. Anthony says that he had a feeling that he was suppose to pay attention to that girl in the pink, but figured it was just him thinking "that girl is cute"...So I went on my way into Kmart and they continued on their way. Shortly after going into Kmart I got super bored and decided to leave, I headed for the escalator to go to the bottom floor and there were those two missionaries getting on it as well,(Anthony later told me they went the wrong way and thats why they had to turn around and get on the escalator) Elder Jones kind of cut me off, but it was perfect for me to say something. "Are you missionaries?" They both turn around with the biggest smiles and are saying that they are and asking me how I knew and if I had heard about the church. That's when I told them that I was actually a member from Utah and both of their faces are in disbelief, I thought it was just a look of it's cool to meet someone from Utah, but it just so happens that they were both from Utah! (Anthony says that he didn't believe me and that is why he asked where from in Utah and when I said Bountiful, he was amazed that I really was.) After talking for a couple minutes and giving me a pass along card, Elder Carlton (Anthony) asks me for my address to write me a letter and I of course give it to him. On July 7th when I finally got back to Salt Lake the first thing I tell my mom is I met a missionary and that I might get a letter, but I wasn't going to get my hopes up and thats when she tells me I already had a letter from an Elder Carlton in Australia! For the next 7 months we write each other as much as possible until he came home January 26, 2011 and we saw each other on January 29, 2011 and with that folks...The rest is History

Ever since we began writing we both knew that there was a reason as to why we met in Australia, there are several times we have come to figure out that we were suppose to meet in Utah, but neither one of us were ready at that point in our lives. We're excited to start our lives together.
